Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Altitude: 1,400 meters (4,593 feet)
Arrival in Kathmandu, where you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Rest
and prepare for your trek.
Day 2: In Kathmandu with Optional Sightseeing Tour and Trek Preparations
Altitude: 1,400 meters (4,593 feet)
Spend the day in Kathmandu. You have the option for a sightseeing tour to explore
the city’s, Cultural and historical sites, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Also, use this day for trek preparations, such as obtaining permits and finalizing gear.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding
Altitude: Lukla 2,800 meters (9,186 feet), Phakding 2,610 meters (8,563 feet)
Distance: Approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles)
Trekking Hours: 3-4 hours
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, a thrilling experience in itself. Upon landing, start your
trek to Phakding, following the Dudh Koshi River through picturesque villages and lush
forests.
Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar
Altitude: Namche Bazaar 3,440 meters (11,286 feet)
Distance: Approximately 11 kilometers (6.8 miles)
Trekking Hours: 5-6 hours
Continue your trek along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and
ascending gradually. Reach Namche Bazaar, the bustling hub of the Khumbu region, with
stunning mountain views.
Day 5: Acclimatization Day
Altitude: Namche Bazaar 3,440 meters (11,286 feet)
Spend a day acclimatizing in Namche. You can explore the local markets, visit the Sagarmatha National Park Museum, or take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic mountain views.
Day 6: Trek to Tengboche
Altitude: Tengboche 3,870 meters (12,696 feet)
Distance: Approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 miles)
Trekking Hours: 5-6 hours
Your trek continues with a descent to the Dudh Koshi River, followed by an ascent to Tengboche. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery and enjoy breathtaking views of
Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
Day 7: Trek to Dingboche
Altitude: Dingboche 4,360 meters (14,304 feet)
Distance: Approximately 11 kilometers (6.8 miles)
Trekking Hours: 5-6 hours
Trek to Dingboche, gradually gaining altitude. You will notice the landscape becoming more barren as you enter higher altitudes in the Khumbu region.
Day 8: Acclimatization Day
Altitude: Dingboche 4,360 meters (14,304 feet)
Spend another day acclimatizing in Dingboche. You can take short hikes to nearby hills for acclimatization and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
Day 9: Trek to Lobuche
Altitude: Lobuche 4,940 meters (16,207 feet)
Distance: Approximately 11 kilometers (6.8 miles)
Trekking Hours: 5-6 hours
Ascend to Lobuche, entering the higher alpine region. The landscape becomes more
rugged, and you will start feeling the effects of higher altitude.
Day 10: Trek to Gorokshep and Hike to Everest Base Camp
Altitude: Gorokshep 5,164 meters (16,942 feet),
Everest Base Camp (EBC) 5,364 meters (17,598 feet)
Distance: Approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) from Gorokshep to EBC
Trekking Hours: 7-8 hours
Trek to Gorokshep and leave your belongings at the lodge. Hike to Everest Base Camp, an exhilarating experience. Return to Gorokshep for the night.
Day 11: Hike to Kala Patthar and Trek Back to Pheriche
Altitude: Kala Patthar 5,545 meters (18,192 feet), Pheriche 4,371 meters (14,340 feet)
Distance: Approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles) from Gorokshep to Kala Patthar
Trekking Hours: 7-8 hours
Early morning, hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise views of Everest. Descend to Gorokshep and
continue to Pheriche, losing altitude.
Day 12: Trek Back to Namche
Altitude: Namche Bazaar 3,440 meters (11,286 feet)
Distance: Approximately 18 kilometers (11.2 miles)
Trekking Hours: 6-7 hours
Begin your descent, retracing your steps through Tengboche and Dingboche, until
you reach Namche Bazaar.
Day 13: Trek Back to Lukla
Altitude: Lukla 2,800 meters (9,186 feet)
Distance: Approximately 18 kilometers (11.2 miles)
Trekking Hours: 6-7 hours
Continue your descent, passing through Phakding and the Dudh Koshi River valley,
ultimately reaching Lukla.
Day 14: Fly Back to Kathmandu
Altitude: 1,400 meters (4,593 feet)
Short flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Enjoy your last views of the Himalayas from the
air. Celebrate the completion of your Everest Base Camp trek in Kathmandu.
Day 15: Homeward Bound
Depart from Kathmandu for your home country, carrying cherished memories of your
trek through the picturesque Everest region.
